Important Notes to All Spouse/ Guest Optional Activities and Tours
• Please read disclaimer information on the registration form (agreement and signature required).
• Tours and activities are operated by Operadora de Congresos Veracruz.
• Tours are reserved on a fi rst-come, fi rst-served basis, and registration must be accompanied by a payment in full. You are strongly encouraged to register early.
• Unless otherwise posted, a minimun number of 10 participants is required to operate the tour on exclusive basis; otherwise, tours may be operated on a shared basis with selected local vendors.
• Undersubscribed tours or activities may be cancelled. In this case, a notifi cation will be announced by the second week of September 2011 on the Convention website, and registered participants will be notified by e-mail.
• Tours and activities include accident insurance (Mexico recourse only) and taxes.
• Tours include transportation and departure from and return to the main entrance of the World Trade Center Veracruz.
• Certifi ed bilingual guides are provided with air-conditioned vehicle and guided tours.
• Tickets will be sold on site on space-available basis only and will be payable in U.S. dollars, traveler’s checks, and major credit cards (American Express, MasterCard, and Visa) at the registration desk located in the World Trade Center Veracruz. An information module will be available for guests and spouses next to the registration desk in the World Trade Center
• All prices are in U.S. dollars per person.

• Wear comfortable clothing and shoes or sneakers. Weather and temperature forecasts and clothing recommendations will be announced on the Convention website. Registered participants will be kept informed via email. Please include e-mail in your registration.

Optional Guest Activities
Tlacotalpan: A tour through a prehispanic and colonial of history. Declared as a world heritage site since 1998 by the UNESCO.

Tlacotalpan is a living example of true Spanish heritage and an all-year-round tourists spot. The Papaloapan River is the framework of its architecture and traditions. Known as “the Papaloapan Pearl,” Tlacotalpan was originally part of the Tolteca and Totonaca early territories.
Stroll around this magic town and visit historical sites such as Netzahualcoyotl Theater, the Agustin Lara Home Museum, “La Candelaria” Church, and the Handcrafts House. Enjoy a boat ride rolling on the Papaloapan River while tasting a sample of delicious coconut ice cream. All your senses will be delighted throughout this tour.

Try out out a welcome cocktail with local background music. Then, enjoy a delicious lunch while attending a conference about the hardly known story of Spanish and French pioneers and their travels, from as far away as Louisiana, to Veracruz and southeastern Mexico. Enjoy viewing photos and images of the Spanish Sea (as the Gulf of Mexico was fi rst known) and some of the fi rst maps of the Gulf of Mexico from as early as 1519, in an interesting conference about early explorations.
San Juan de Ulúa and Historic Downtown: History, Legends, and Myths

The Castle of San Juan de Ulúa is a must-see while visiting the port of Veracruz.
The castle was built on an island, overlooking the seaport of Veracruz at the beginning of the Spanish colonial period. It was fi rst intended to serve as a fortress to protect Spanish ships against pirate attacks. During the Independence War, it served as a prison for rebels and politicians, later to be restored as a presidential home.
After visiting the Castle of San Juan de Ulúa, where several movies have been filmed, the tour continues through downtown Veracruz, where you can get to know the city´s legends and myths, dating back to the early Spanish colonial period.
Danzon Class: Rhythm and Fun

Let the experts lead you and teach you about the secrets of this traditional dance that we are sure you will enjoy at the Grand Salon of the Galerias Plaza Hotel.
Have a lot of fun and enjoy yourself practicing the rhythmical steps of “danzon.” Surprise your partner at the end of the day with your new rhythm and teach this dance to your friends back home.
