SESSION CHAIRMEN, SPEAKERS, POSTER PRESENTERS, AND JUDGES BREAKFAST

Date: Monday, October 17, through Wednesday, October 19
Time: 07:15-08:15 hrs.
Location: Monday and Tuesday, Ulúa 5; Wednesday, Gran Salon Veracruz, Galería Plaza Hotel

All session chairmen, speakers, poster presenters, and judges are invited to attend this complimentary breakfast on the day of their respective sessions. Name badge required for entry. Speakers and poster presenters will receive fi nal instructions on session timing, introductions, electronic presentations, and the proper use of electronic equipment. PC-based projection will be the only projection format available, and speakers are required to check at the Speakers/Poster Presenters/Judges Room the day prior to their presentation. Poster session presenters will receive last-minute instructions on booth layout, setup, and teardown. Name badge required for entrance.

The poster sessions will be held in the South Lobby of the World Trade Center. The Technical Committee will inform you as to which booth number you have been assigned to.

If you have not already picked up your judging packet in the Speakers/Poster Presenters/Judges Room, this will be your last opportunity. You will be instructed on judging procedures and how to submit your ballots. Please mark your registration form on page 50 or click appropriate box for online registration to volunteer to be a judge!

Note: Due to liability restrictions, children under the age of 13 will not be allowed in the Exhibition Hall unless confi ned to a stroller backpack or front pack.

The Exhibition Hall houses several coff ee break stands every morning and afternoon, featuring the GCAGS, AAPG, and AMGP stands.

Exhibitors include important operators and service companies; both commercial and non- profit enterprises; universities; government agencies; earth sciences associations and societies; national oil companies like Pemex; and information data processing services.

BADGES

Badges must be worn at all times while attending the Convention. For your own safety, remove your name badge once you leave the Convention.

 


SECURITY

Convention security has been arranged to handle security-related problems at the World Trade Center. Please report any security issues to one of the following:

1. Lost and found and Convention Security are located in the Registration area.

2. GCAGS staff person identifi able by the teal green “GCAGS” ribbon attached to their badge.

3. The GCAGS Registration Supervisor.

4. Be careful! Avoid at all times local urban buses and don´t fl ag a taxi down out on the street. Take the ones available at the airport taxi stand or directly from the bellboy at your hotel entrance. We suggest asking for the updated tariff before boarding.

• We encourage you to review the personal security information provided at your hotel during your stay. Additionally, the American and British embassies can inform you on practical security tips through their respective websites. We invite you to consult them.

TRANSPORTATION

A small fl eet of transit service vehicles will be available to take you from the airport to the designated hotels. At the airport, after clearing Customs, look for ECODSA greeters, who will be wearing light blue shirts and holding “GCAGS Convention” signs. This service is free.

During Convention events, this same free service will be available to take you to and from the Convention Hotels and the World Trade Center. Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.
